After an extended absence from writing my own blog, I have decided to bring it back to life! It is just one part of a whole revamp of my website and online presence.
The most notable change to my site and my emerging world is my little online shop called compendiumshop.ca, which will house all the new things coming out of my studio … and there will be LOTS of new things emerging in the coming months!! I am working on a whole new selection of one-of-a-kind, hand-painted pieces that will represent three areas that are very important to me ~ salvaging, function and beauty. So some of the future is completely new for me, and I am pretty excited.
What has emerged from our pandemic times for me is a need to change what I am doing, and how I am putting it into the world. Three shops that carried my work pre-pandemic, have either closed completely or downsized their inventory all around. This has left the Salish Sea Market, in Bowser, BC, as my single outlet for furniture pieces. Ahhh yes, a shift is in the works. Reinventing myself and my work, and although it’s taken me months to get to this point, I now feel much more prepared to move forward. I am so very thankful to everything and everyone who have helped me get to this point.
I have re-energized much of the website, adding, removing and updating throughout. I am most intrigued about my little shop though … trying to create what I would like a bricks-and-mortar store to feel like, but here, online. It will definitely be a work-in-progress, and will be updated with new pieces regularly. (Hopefully weekly!)
My internal wisdom continues to tell me to move slowly and intentionally through these times. No Rush Required. So far, this wisdom is working perfectly for me.
In deciding to reactivate my blog, I want to share a variety of aspects of my world, once a week, on Sundays. It’s my way of sitting with you and having a little visit. So, if you aren’t signed up to receive this in your email inbox, I hope you will join me on this curious adventure called LIFE … with all it’s peaks and valleys, joys and wonder!
I promise to do my best to inspire and inform.
My desire is to create a community here! I hope you will join me.
Welcome to my new world.

You always do inspire and inform! May everyone join in the celebration of your wondrous work going out into the world.
Welcome back, Sarah. I love the way you listen and follow your inner wisdom. It affirms my own, and definitely resonates as truth to me, particularly ‘no need to rush!’ And I’m always inspired by your innovative ways you re-invent yourself and your work! Looking forward to witnessing this through the blog and the updated shop.
Salvaging, function, and beauty. Perfect! You’ve truly encapsulated who you are, and what you do.
I love that you take the time to reflect … deeply. And, then have the courage to act … despite fear.
I recently read that “courage” is “fear walking.” That’s you. Moving forward, finding your way, then reflecting some more.
Hats off to you, Sarah! Keep up your wonderful, inspirational work! Truly a gift to all.
Thank you Karen, I so appreciate your ongoing and loving support of the work I do … I promise to keep on going!!
Congratulations Sarah. So excited to see and read what is coming forward from ad for you. As always it is a joy and pleasure to witness your continuing unfolding and attention to detail as to discover and reconnect with your inner wisdom and creative, practical nature. Love what you have done so far.
Thank you so much Beth! It is in the love and support of my community that all of this happens … and YOU are certainly part of that!
Looking forward to Sarah Sundays. I am always inspired by your work, your passion, and most of all you!
Awwwww … thanks Gloria … I hope to amuse and inspire you on Sundays!
What a gift ❤️ I feel honoured to be part of your world
Thank you
Thank you Loll … it is a pleasure to have you as part of my world too!!
Congratulations on adapting to the changes in the world – you’re a role model for those who tend to stay stuck (or perhaps expend their energy on grumbles)!
And what a wonderful adaptation – again, a role model. Few, it seems, can truly capture what they represent and then express it so beautifully, so elegantly, so responsibly.
I wish you much luck to accompany your hard work, Sarah. And I know that I for one look forward to the next issue of Compendium!
Thank you so much Stephanie for you loving support and sincere encouragement of the work that I am doing! My heart is full! I am slowly working on the next issue of compendium, but as you know, everything takes so much longer in pandemic times. Stay tuned!
Congratulations Sarah! We’re a long way from the early days in Guelph when you launched your first (?) book. It’s been a treat (and inspiring) to watch your journey! Focus, Vision, gentle Determination, and Gratitude have always been a part of your story… As have Creativity, Relevance, Timeliness – – and Murchies #10. Well done you! ?
Thank you Amanda! Yes, you have witnessed lots and lots of evolution in me … thanks for staying along for the journey. It takes a village to raise an artist!
Wow! I go away for a couple of weeks and look what emerges. It’s absolutely beautiful, Sarah. And it is absolutely, YOU. Well, well done my dear friend. Such a wonderful model for Inspired Living and Working brought forth as only you can bring it forth. Hugs, love, and all the best and magical wishes for you (and us who get to tag along for the ride).
Thank you my dear friend … I know you have my back for the journey and that always gives me greater confidence to keep moving in the right direction!
