Look at the bounty of boxes that arrived recently!!!

I am blessed to have my dear friend and painting mentor Kathy keep a sharp eye out for new painting fodder for me … and this time she hit the jackpot of boxes!

So, all the way from Ontario, I have been working on these for past several weeks, and this is how they turned out.

Each box really had a unique personality!

The small red one appears to have been a presentation case, I think for a watch or bracelet. I love the inverted corners, they were fun to play with.

The middle one, I call it the Drawer Box, because it actually opens on the short side, with a slide out drawer. It is obviously a home-made, purpose-built box, with a lovely vibe to it.  Very solid and nice feet!

The small blue box was a jewelry box and lent itself to the joy of dark violet and turquoise with gold.

The BIG box, as I have come to refer to it, has a peaked top, which was a challenge to get my head around. I wasn’t quite sure how a design was going to play, but it seemed to direct the show, which they are good at doing! Of course, I see this as a Writing Box, and so have made a sliding tray inside for writing utencils.!

The last box is a TEA box, complete with removable dividers inside. It is an impressive piece, very well constructed.  The inside has green flocking!

Each box is so different from the others, and that made it even more fun to work on them all at the same time.

I have updated my Mandala Note Cards for 2025, replacing 4 of the original images with new ones.

That’s the thing about the energy of mandalas, they have their moment, and new ones were needed for these particular cards. I like to keep them fresh and alive!

The words are the same as the previous cards, just new images.

This last period of time has been very mixed for me, I guess that’s really true for just about everyone.

Making sense of the world and my place in it has taken some serious thought and reflection … so each day I ask what I need to do to stay grounded and aware of myself.

My wish is that we all know how valuable and loved we are, always.
